Caring

Love for others is to be a hallmark trait of Christians. At St. Paul we hope to teach from God's Word how to love and then to actually live it out by his strength. Here are just a few of the ways in which we look to love those in our lives:

Men's Ministry
Women's Ministry
Children and Youth Ministry

Christian Family Solutions
Christian Care and Relief
Helps Ministry

Learning

One of the main instructions given to the leaders of the church was to be able to teach. Leaders are also commanded to equip the saints so that they can also carry out the work of the minsitry, and this exactly what our skilled teachers desire to do.

Coming to our services should be a time of worship and fellowship, but also of mental strengthening. Sermons are understandable but yet stimulating to the mind with respect to accurate doctrine and implication. The same is true of our Christian education programwhich is directed toward spiritual growth and faith formation. As Jesus invited Andrew and John so we invite you to, "Come and see." (Jn. 1:39)

Going

Jesus' Great Commission of Matthew 28 tells us that we are to go and gather disciples from all nations by baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and by teaching them to keep all the instructions that He has given us.With this command comes His promise, "And surely I am with you always until the end of the age."

At St. Paul's we take the words of our Lord to heart by promoting worldwide missions. Working cooperatively with other congregation are reaching out with the saving message of the gospel in the United States, Canada, and 50 foreign countries. Missions continues to plant churches, train leaders, and mentor fellow Christians here and abroad. Exploratory evangelism continues throughout the world.

Short-term mission trips, called WELS Mission Journeys, provides an opportunity for members to walk together in the Great Commission. Through church-based and school-based volunteer trips to mission fields at home and abroad, members have the opportunity to engage in Christian service. If you have any interest in serving on one of these volunteer mission teams or have questions about missions and your life, please see our pastor for assistance.

Prioritizing

“As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you my God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?” (Psalm 42:1, 2 NIV)

One of the definitions in the Webster’s dictionary for the word pant is to long eagerly or yearn.  Have you ever been so thirsty that you could think of nothing else but getting your hands on a drink of water? I have! And what I found is that no matter how busy I was…if I was thirsty enough I would make time to get a drink.

What does this have to do with prioritizing God’s presence in our busy lives? It has everything to do with it. You see, when you are passionate about something it becomes a natural priority, but when you are cold or indifferent, it then becomes a chore. When you are thirsty, no one needs to convince you to go get a drink- you are driven by your thirst to go and get one. For a Christian, prioritizing God’s presence really has little or nothing to do with how busy we are.

As saints, that is forgiven sinners, we are called upon to make time to listen to God speak to us in his Word and to speak to him in prayer. It is solely by spending time in God's Word and listening to his whispers of love that we become aware of our need and the One who fills it. Then we want to make God a priority in our lives. As Peter said,

“Lord, to whom will we go? You have the words of eternal life.” (John 6:68 EHV)
